![]() ![]() But when it comes to breakfast I can not recommend the pancakes. I like Khaan Deli, good place for dinner, snacks, hot and cold drinks. I suggest getting dinner here after visiting Chojin Temple next door. That said, if it had of been the regular thick cream I'm used to, I don't think we would have been able to finish. The crème brûlée was tasty, but the cream wasn't as smooth as it could have been. There was so much going on, but it all worked extremely well together. My wife had the Marrow Risotto which had a tenderloin as a garnsih!! Also, the amount of parmesan cheese in it made it extra creamy and pungent in taste. The steak was done as I asked, medium rare, which is impressive considering the thinness of the steak. I had the Chojin Special Steak which came with a side of creamy bone marrow! What a side! The standard veggies and mash also came with it making the dish quite large. The Organic Immune Boost Tea was fresh and calming with a slight tart aftertaste because of the seabuckthorn. It was nice to have that extra bit on top of the delicious food to make the experience 5 star though. Service isn't necessarily a standard in restaurants in Ulaanbaatar, but that's just the culture and my colonialist expectations of "service". This was also the first restaurant where the service was exceptional. That said, Chojin Temple Restaurant is a MUST! The food here was better than anything I had ever expected. ![]() They happened to include a lot of Western style cuisine. I prefer trying the local delicacies, but my townie wife ended up taking me to many of her favourite restaurants. Oh yes! Something that surprised me about the food in Mongolia was how well they cook Western cuisine. If I could afford it, I'd go there every one of the 28 days that I am here just for the coffee! Well done, Rosewood Kitchen + Enoteca The bitter notes of a strong coffee bean were there, but the overall flavour profile was so much more complex than that. By the end of the meal, I had consumed 3! With just one of their Rosewood branded packets of sugar, this was the best cappuccino I think I've ever had. I had all intentions to just have the cappuccino and my pizza and be on my way. While the food here was magnificent, I want to end this review slightly oddly, with my appetizer. This brand even has its own market where you can buy some of this stuff (see photos). The brioche bun was made in-house and had a beautiful crisp shine. It was massive and even so, it was so delicious that she ate the whole thing along with the fries. This was the first restaurant my local fiancé brought me to and she had the RKE Cheeseburger. Fresh ingredients, a tasty crust when you eat it standalone, a fresh and slightly sweet tomato sauce and a few charred bubbles that help break past that sweetness to create the perfectly balanced slice. As many people will tell you internationally, there are things to look for when eating a pizza and this had them all. The crust was thin with a corn meal base and so was still crunchy and not a pile of mush. The salami is made in-house and was perfect alongside the chopped up jalapenos. The decor here was business casual with some living walls and a welcoming atmosphere which was added to by the friendly staff. ![]() While I do enjoy eating mostly traditional meals in the countries I visit (I can get Burger King or Italian food anywhere), I will definitely be back to Rosewood.Īpparently, they also have a sister restaurant that serves Spanish cuisine and I can't wait to check it out. ![]()
